Privacy Policy

What stays on your device

Your progress, solve times, streak, achievements, in-progress games, and settings are stored locally on your device and are not sent anywhere unless you sign in.

Accounts

• Anonymous account — every launch creates an anonymous Firebase account so the daily puzzle and leaderboard can work. It holds no personal information.
• Signing in with Google or Apple (optional) — links your anonymous account to that provider so your progress syncs across devices. We receive your display name and email address from the provider. You can sign out or delete the account (and its synced data) at any time from the Profile screen.

Leaderboard

When signed in, the puzzles you solve, your solve times, move counts, and a display name are stored in our database to build the leaderboard. Turn on "Hide from leaderboard" in Settings to submit under your guest name and hide rankings.

Analytics and crash reporting

Release builds send anonymised usage and crash data to Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to help us fix bugs. No puzzle content or personal information is included.

Ads

The app (iOS/Android) shows ads via Google AdMob. AdMob and its partners may collect device identifiers and usage data to show and measure ads. On iPhone and iPad, after you've solved a few puzzles the app asks once whether to allow tracking; if you choose "Ask App Not to Track", AdMob does not receive your advertising identifier and shows non-personalised ads instead. You'll see the same number of ads either way. You can change this in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking (iOS) or Settings > Privacy > Ads (Android). The web version shows ads via Google AdSense instead. See Google's Privacy Policy for how each handles data.

Third-party services

• Google Firebase — authentication, Realtime Database, and crash reporting. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
• Sign in with Apple — governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Data retention and deletion

Local data is removed when you delete the app. Cloud data (if you signed in) can be deleted from the Profile screen — which removes your account and its synced data — or by contacting us at the address below.

Children's privacy

Digital Sudoku is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Sign-in is entirely optional, and the app is fully playable without creating an account.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
